The event, an annual fund raising dinner, attracted local members from Springhill and surrounding area, and was an overwhelming success – the largest ever – attended by over 250 guests at the Best Western Glengarry Trade & Convention Centre in Truro. Hnatiuk, owner of the largest hunting, fishing, and taxidermy outlet in Nova Scotia, has been a long time supporter of the organisation. “Ducks Unlimited is committed to wetland conservation and has been for more than 65 years. Government should be equally aware and committed,” he said. Hnatiuk commends them for the work they do, “The committee members of Ducks Unlimited did the community of Truro proud tonight, they were obviously very well organized, professional, and exhibited an excellent team spirit. Well done.” Hnatiuk spoke to many of the members present who shared their frustration that nothing has been done to scrap the long-gun registry. Hnatiuk reassured members that this is a priority for him in this by-election. “The CHP policy is clear,” he said. “We would do away with the long gun registry which has cost billions to date. This money should be put to better use to actually fight crime.” Photo: From left – Chairman of Ducks Unlimited David Bauld, Jim Hnatiuk, Fundraising Manager Jamie Young To interview Jim Hnatiuk: (1-888-868-3247) |
